2023: Suzuki GSX-8S en V-Strom 800 DE

Suzuki presenteerde op de EICMA motorbeurs twee nieuwe modellen. De V-Strom 800 DE en GSX-8S zijn een adventure en nakedbike die hetzelfde platform delen met een 776cc 270° paralleltwin. Het merk heeft er daarmee meteen twee competitieve middenklassers bij – een verademing nadat Suzuki’s modellengamma de afgelopen jaren steeds oubolliger werd.

De GSX-8S is een nakedbike die het wil opnemen tegen de MT-07, Z650 en recent getoonde Hornet. Met 83pk voor 202 kilo zijn de specs alvast op punt, zeker omdat de Suzuki zijn koppel (78Nm) een stuk vroeger afgeeft dan eerder genoemde Hornet. We zijn alvast benieuwd naar een vergelijkingstest.

– The standard-equipment Bi-directional Quick Shift System lets you shift up or down without operating the clutch lever. Shifting is smooth and sure, and the system is optimized to provide a solid, satisfying click with each shift you make.

V-Strom 800 DE

De nieuwe V-Strom gaat dan weer de strijd aan in de middenklasse met toppers als de KTM Adventures of Yamaha MT-07. Het motorblok is identiek aan dat van bovenstaande GSX, maar de uitrusting legt de nadruk op avontuurlijk rijden. Een aangenaam contrast met de nieuwe Honda Transalp die wel erg ‘vanille’ overkomt in vergelijking met de Suzuki.
