PERSBERICHT PANIGALE V2
The new Ducati Panigale V2 marks an epochal passage in the history, made up of iconic models and Superbike victories, of the twin-cylinder sports bikes from Borgo Panigale. A completely redesigned bike, which only keeps the name of the previous model, and which also thanks to a new 90° V2 engine, modern and efficient, becomes the lightest Panigale (-17 kg compared to the previous model, in the V2 S version) ever produced by Ducati.
A modern bike, which continues the tradition of models such as the 748, the 848 and the 959, but completely changing the design approach. While those were real racing bikes, which sacrificed rideability and road enjoyment in the name of maximum performance on the track in the hands of expert riders, the new Panigale V2 maintains true Ducati performance between the curbs, but becomes enjoyable and fun on the road and in everyday use.
The Panigale V2 picks up a very demanding mantle: the previous model has just been confirmed as Supersport world champion for the second consecutive year, also winning the Italian title with Ducati test rider Davide Stirpe. In the hands of the latter, the new Panigale V2 lapped Vallelunga just two-tenths of a second from the previous model despite a deficit of 35 horsepower in maximum power, proving superior in every situation – braking, corner entry, cornering and traction – except on the straight.
On the road, the new Panigale V2 is the most fun Ducati sports bike ever created. Intuitive to ride, it offers a great feeling from the very first contact, and thanks to a torque-rich delivery at medium revs, it offers a hearty and usable boost when exiting corners. Compared to the previous model, the riding position is modern, more comfortable and suitable for all situations, and the thermal comfort of the rider is significantly better.
Lightness, intuitiveness, reduced physical and psychological effort and a wide and usable power curve, combined with a style and technical equipment worthy of a true Ducati: all objectives achieved by the new Panigale V2 thanks to a project that started from scratch, without constraints or dogmas that would condition its approach. For the first time in Ducati history, this supersport bike is in fact a completely separate model, which does not derive from the flagship except in its style and its true sporting personality.
Family Feeling
The design of the new Panigale V2 naturally derives from the new Panigale V4 recently presented, with features that translate the complex surfaces of its fairing into taut and clean lines, defining an aggressive and at the same time elegant sports bike, like all Ducatis. Inside the latter, a passive ventilation system channels fresh air towards the rider and moves the hot air coming from the radiator away from him.
The front is characterised by a marked reference to the Panigale V4, dominated by the Full-LED headlight and the almost horizontal DRL, and closed at the bottom by the leading edge that represents one of the new stylistic features of the Panigale front. The design of the fuel tank, designed to support the rider in sports riding, also recalls that of the new Panigale V4, adapted to the new mechanical base and the different ergonomic triangle, developed to reduce the load on the wrists while maintaining an excellent feeling on the front end when cornering.
The rear, completely faired like on the Desmosedici MotoGP, creates a monolithic effect between the seat and the tail. The full-LED rear light is divided into two parts in accordance with the tradition of Ducati
sportbikes. The exhaust, which ends with silencers positioned under the seat, harks back to the racing tradition of the Panigale, underlining the sporty soul of the bike.
The design of the new six-spoke light alloy wheels with a “Y” profile, arranged into three groups, represents a modern reinterpretation of the iconic look of the three Marchesini spokes. The black of the wheels highlights the full Ducati Red livery.
New V2 engine
The Panigale V2 mounts the new 90° V2 engine with variable timing for the intake valves, Euro5+ homologated, with 890 cc and 120 hp. Its weight of just 54.4 kg (-9.5 kg compared to the Superquadro it replaces) makes it the lightest twin-cylinder ever produced by Ducati, and its torque curve, with 70% of the maximum value already available at 3,000 rpm, ensures that riding is always exciting, even on the road. And those who want to use the Panigale V2 on the track can mount the racing exhaust, which increases the maximum power to 126 hp, with a weight reduction of 4.5 kg.
All this makes the Panigale V2 enjoyable and fun when it comes to sportbike riding. The new Panigale V2 S weighs just 176 kg, a fact that combined with the power of 120 hp determines a power/weight ratio of 0.68 hp/kg. All the details on the new engine are available in the press kit.
True Ducati chassis
The Panigale V2 chassis is a lightweight and efficient monocoque that uses the engine as a stressed element. The double-sided swingarm is inspired in design by the Hollow Symmetrical Swingarm of the Panigale V4 and offers the same benefits in terms of stability when coming out of corners and feeling when riding on the track, where it allows the rider to make the most of modern slick tyres.
The suspension is fully adjustable, to allow the rider to customize the set-up of the new Ducati sportbike. The Panigale V2 is equipped with a Marzocchi fork and Kayaba shock absorber, while the Panigale V2 S offers its rider a more premium package, consisting of an Öhlins fork and shock absorber, in addition to a lithium-ion battery that reduces its weight.
The new cast wheels mount Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres in 120/70 and 190/55 sizes, which combine handling and footprint, enhancing the sporting qualities of the Panigale V2. The Brembo front braking system consists of two 320 mm discs and M50 monobloc calipers, which offers power for track use and modulability for road use.
Super sportbike electronics
The Panigale V2 is equipped with a six-axis IMU inertial platform, thus supporting a complete and effective electronics package, to offer safety for road use and performance on the circuit. The electronics package includes sporting ABS Cornering with slide-by-brake functionality, Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Wheelie Control, Engine Brake Control and the new Ducati Quick Shift 2.0, the same system used on the Panigale V4, standard on both versions.
The Panigale V2 rider can instantly change its behaviour by choosing between 4 Riding Modes (Race, Sport, Road, Wet) that offer pre-configured and user-modifiable intervention levels for all controls and engine response. In this way, with the simple press of a button it is possible to adapt the Panigale V2 to the rider’s preferences and to the various riding situations.
The Panigale V2 dashboard is a new 5” TFT with a user interface based on Infomode, conceptually derived from that of the new Panigale V4. The three views Road, Road Pro and Track are designed to allow the
rider to concentrate on riding, highlighting the most relevant information for each context with a rational and complete display.
The rider interface has been streamlined, integrating the information as much as possible in order to reduce its density and therefore improve readability. The rev counter, for example, also acts as a gear shift indicator, lighting up green in the ideal regime for shifting up, and red when over-revving.
Accessories
The new Panigale V2 has several accessories to increase its performance on the track or make it more versatile for road use. Thanks to the dedicated package consisting of a racing fairing, adjustable footrests and lowered handlebars, which can also be purchased separately, it is possible to transform the Panigale V2 into a true track bike.
Furthermore, with the aforementioned racing exhaust, reserved for use on the circuit, you can increase the maximum power to 126 hp and reduce the weight of the bike by 4.5 kg. And the Lap Timer Pro self-timing system, using the Track Infomode, displays lap times, split times and improvements in the rider’s performance in real time.
Those who wish to enjoy the new Panigale V2 to the fullest on the road can mount Cruise control, Turn- by-turn navigator, a USB power socket to power a smartphone or a TPMS tyre pressure sensor.
Availability and colours
The new Panigale V2 will arrive in dealerships in two versions at the end of January 2025, in Ducati Red livery only. The Panigale V2 will be offered in a two-seater configuration, while the Panigale V2 S will be available in a single-seater configuration, with a passenger kit available as an accessory, and will sport the Pit Limiter and the Ducati Power Launch as standard equipment. Both are also available in a 35 kW version for motorcyclists with an A2 license.

The new Panigale V2 marks a new era for Ducati and its mid-size sportbike. It is a completely new bike, which retains only the name of the previous one to underline its sporty character and 90° V-twin engine. The new Panigale V2 is a lightweight and modern sportbike that, thanks to specific technical solutions, is also suitable for everyday use, so as not to place limits on those who want to enjoy it while riding on mountain passes and on the track, as well as in everyday riding.
No longer just a pure racebike, but a Panigale capable of providing typical Ducati emotions when riding between the curbs and at the same time a sophisticated road-going sportbike, versatile and fun to ride on the road, alone or with a passenger.
To do this, the new Panigale V2 is born on a completely new technical base, designed around the new 890 cc 90° V2 engine. A bike designed to provide maximum pleasure in sporty riding, focusing on lightness, easy handling, a powerful and usable engine, sporty ergonomics and high comfort even over long distances. All this while confirming the Panigale values of style, sportiness and high-level technical equipment.
Design
The Panigale V2 maintains the design DNA of the V4, transferring its lines and concepts to the new mechanical base, with a more horizontal dynamic and less front-end load, highlighting the compact size of the new V2. An essential and clean design, dressed in large, fluid and taut surfaces that communicate complex volumes, defining an aggressive and at the same time elegant sportbike like all Ducati super sportbikes.
The front is clean and essential, with the design dominated by the Full-LED headlight and the DRL, which make up a profile immediately recognizable for the family feeling with the Panigale V4, with an almost horizontal development.
The front is closed at the bottom by the leading edge introduced with the new Panigale V4, which represents one of the new stylistic features of the Panigale front. The fairing and the windshield remain very narrow despite the raised handlebars compared to the previous Panigale V2. The tank design recalls that of the new Panigale V4, adapted to the new mechanical base and the different ergonomic triangle
Particular attention was paid to the management of the air flows directed towards the rider to improve riding comfort. Conveyors have been created inside the fairing that direct fresh air coming from the front towards the rider’s legs. These work in synergy with the upper vents designed to move hot air coming from the radiator away from the rider’s legs.
The tail, completely faired in continuity with the front part, takes up the colour scheme of the new Panigale V4 and the Ducati MotoGP, creating a monolithic effect between the seat and the tail fairing. The full-LED rear light is divided into two parts in accordance with the tradition of Ducati sportbikes and makes the Panigale V2 unmistakable with its double red arch. Front and rear direction indicators are LED.
The exhaust, which ends with silencers positioned under the seat and harks back to the Panigale’s racing tradition, recalls Superbike competitions and the 1299 Final Edition and underlines the bike’s sporty soul.
The design of the new six-spoke light alloy wheels with a “Y” profile, clustered into three groups, represents a modern reinterpretation of the iconic look of the three Marchesini spokes. The black of the wheels underlines the full Ducati Red livery.
Ergonomics
The ergonomic triangle and the contact surfaces with the rider have been designed to combine support, comfort and versatility to make the new Panigale V2 enjoyable to ride on the road, effective and rewarding between the curbs, while always maintaining physical effort limited.
The rider controls the new Panigale V2 through a pair of forged aluminium semi-handlebars mounted on the steering head. The adjustable brake and clutch levers operate radial pumps with separate fluid tanks. For road use, you can rely on a 30° steering angle.
The footpegs, with forged attachments and aluminium heel guards, have a shape designed to improve grip. The passenger footpegs are mounted on the rear subframe and can be easily removed to transform the Panigale V2 into a single-seater.
The rider seat at 837 mm from the ground allows you to easily put your feet on the ground, the height at which the semi-handlebars are positioned is such as not to put too much strain on the wrists, and the position of the footpegs is designed so as not to tire the knees too much, while still favouring riding with the body when the pace increases. The passenger seat is well spaced from the footpegs and is adequately padded.
The fuel tank has an ergonomic shape similar to that of the new Panigale V4, to support the rider in the braking phases and when “hanging off” in the middle of the curve. The surfaces in contact with the rider, completely free of metal parts, facilitate the anchoring of the knees in such a way as to unload the arms when braking, and reduce the physical effort in maintaining an out-of-the-saddle position when cornering.
Engine
The new Panigale V2 is powered by the new 890 cc 90° V2, the lightest twin-cylinder (54.4 kg) ever produced by Ducati. Equipped with the IVT variable valve timing system on the hollow-stem intake valves, the new V2 represents a new chapter in the history of Ducati twin-cylinder engines, becoming the benchmark not only for lightness, but also for compactness, low consumption and emissions (Euro5+ homologation) to which are added a wide range of use and a fully usable maximum power level.
The new engine delivers 120 hp of maximum power at 10,750 rpm, with an extension that sees the limiter intervene at 11,500 rpm. The maximum torque value is 93.3 Nm at 8,250 rpm with a generous power delivery even at low revs (more than 70% of the maximum torque already available at 3,000 rpm, more than 80% always available between 4,000 rpm and 11,000 rpm) which guarantees a prompt response at every throttle opening, offering gusto and usability both in everyday use and on the track.
By adopting the Termignoni racing exhaust, with titanium silencer sleeves and carbon end caps, the power increases by 6 hp, the torque by 5 Nm and the weight is reduced by 4.5 kg*. For the new Panigale V2, homologated Termignoni silencers are also available, always with titanium sleeves and carbon end caps, which combine a sporty design with a weight reduction of 0.5 kg.
The six-speed transmission is equipped with the second-generation Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) 2.0, which debuted on the new Panigale V4 and which offers a more direct shift feel, with a shorter, repeatable and less “rubbery” travel that is particularly appreciated when riding on the track. The clutch is an oil bath slipper clutch with progressive hydraulic control and low load on the lever. The final drive ratio (15/41) has been developed to ensure the best engine responsiveness when reopening the throttle on open roads and engine extension when used on the track.
For younger riders with an A2 license, a version with power limited to 35 kW is available. In this version, maximum power is 43.5 hp at 6,250 rpm, and maximum torque is 5 kgm at 5,750 rpm.
All the information on the new Ducati V2 engine is available in the press kit.
Chassis
The chassis of the new Panigale V2 confirms the use of the monocoque structure in the dual function of frame and airbox, which uses the V2 engine as a structural element. A compact and rational solution that allows the new Panigale V2 in the “S” version to reach a weight of 176 kg with all fluids but without fuel, 17 kg less than the previous model.
The 1,465 mm wheelbase and the steering geometry with 23.6° rake and 93 mm trail make the Panigale V2 easy to handle, light and quick to lean, while maintaining stability when cornering and at speed.
Monocoque Frame
The monocoque structure is cast in aluminium, weighs 4 kg and uses the new V2 engine, to which it is fixed directly to the vertical cylinder head, as a structural element. In addition to fulfilling the classic function of a frame, the monocoque also acts as an air-box; inside it are housed the air filter, throttle bodies and fuel circuit complete with injectors.
The rear subframe, also cast in aluminium, is fixed to the monocoque at the top and directly to the engine at the bottom. At the front, a structural plastic subframe supports the headlight, dashboard and windshield.
Suspension
The new twin-cylinder Ducati Panigale is available in two versions, V2 and V2 S, which differ in the suspension equipment.
The Panigale V2 is equipped with a fully adjustable Marzocchi fork, with 43 mm stanchion tubes and forged feet. At the rear, the Kayaba shock absorber is also fully adjustable. The Panigale V2 S is equipped with Öhlins suspension, fully adjustable, with NIX30 stanchion fork 43 mm in diameter and TiN treatment on the latter to improve smoothness.
On both versions the shock absorber is equipped with a separate reservoir and is mounted laterally, on a progressive link fixed directly to the new double-sided swingarm, offering easy access to the spring preload adjustments.
The new double-sided swingarm, fixed directly to the engine, is made by low pressure casting of aluminium alloy which allows for a reduction of the average thickness of the structure. The external design recalls that of the Ducati Hollow Symmetrical Swingarm of the new Panigale V4 guaranteeing the same benefits in riding in terms of mechanical grip, stability when exiting corners, precision in closing the line in the middle of the curve and maintaining the trajectory while riding.
The chassis equipment can be completed by mounting an adjustable Öhlins steering damper, available as an accessory, which especially in track riding increases stability and steering precision.
Wheels and tyres
Both versions of the new Panigale V2 are equipped with 3.50 x 17” light alloy wheels at the front and 5.50 X 17” at the rear, 1 kg lighter than the previous ones, which mount Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres in the sizes.
120/70 and 190/55. The choice of the 190/55 size of the rear tyre combines handling and footprint, offering maximum support even at the lean angles typical of circuit riding.
For circuit use only, it is possible to mount Pirelli Diablo Superbike slicks with a 180/60 or 190/60 rear, the same size used in the Supersport World Championship. High-performance compounds such as the SC0 or the super soft SCX, exclusive for the 190/60, designed for time attack, are available for these tyres.
Brakes
The new Panigale V2 is equipped with a Brembo system that ensures high braking efficiency accompanied by precision and sensitivity at the brake lever, with excellent linearity between applied force and braking response.
The front system calipers are monobloc M50 with four 30 mm pistons, characterized by a compact design that allows a weight saving of 140 grams per caliper compared to the previous M4.32. The monobloc construction offers rigidity and resistance to deformation in the most extreme braking, which in turn translates into better precision and sensitivity at the brake lever. The front system is controlled by a Brembo PR16/21 radial pump, which combines a high feeling with braking power that is a benchmark for the segment.
The double front disc is 320 mm, while the rear disc is 245 mm.
Electronics
The new Panigale V2 is equipped with a latest-generation electronics package, with controls and functions derived from those of the Panigale V4. The functions are managed through a 5” TFT 16:9 dashboard and a “petal” joystick on completely new blocks.
To emphasize the cleanliness and elegance of the new dashboard, the physical warning lights have been removed from the external mask and moved inside the display with the sole exception of the red LED over-revving indicator. The rev counter and the gear indicator flash with a pulsating effect and turn green to indicate the moment of the gear change, and red to signal the intervention of the limiter. During running-in, the rev counter turns orange when the recommended number of revs is exceeded.
The screen has three display modes (Info Modes) called Road, Road Pro and Track (all with automatic switching between night or day backlighting) which differ in the type of information shown and the relative graphic presentation. Using the “joystick” on the handlebars it is possible to switch directly between one Info Mode and another while riding.
The Road display is designed to provide essential information when riding on the road. The circular rev counter bar occupies the entire right-hand side of the display, with the gear indicator in the centre. The speed and selected Riding Mode are on the left. The on-board computer data are in the four corners of the display: fuel level, time, coolant temperature and air temperature.
The Road Pro variant increases the density of information displayed, moving the rev counter to the centre to leave space on the left for the percentage levels of power and torque delivered. The parameters of the selected Riding Mode are visible on the right.
The Track Info Mode features a straight rev counter bar, positioned along the entire length of the upper part of the display. The gear indicator increases in size compared to the Road view, while the speed
indicator diminishes. On the left side is the information of the Lap Timer Pro, if installed (GPS signal, lap time, split time, lap number and current session, signal of improvement of split time and lap time in absolute terms or with reference to the session as on the Panigale V4). On the right side, the display shows the Riding Mode parameters, allowing you to vary the level of intervention of each individual control while riding, and showing the activation of each in real time.
The dashboard also allows Bluetooth pairing with a smartphone and a communication system on the helmet to play music, answer calls and listen to the instructions of the Turn-by-turn navigator accessory, if installed.
Latest-generation electronic controls
The new Panigale V2 is equipped with modern and sophisticated electronics, based on the use of the 6- axis inertial platform, capable of instantly detecting the roll, yaw and pitch angles of the bike.
The electronic package of the Panigale V2 consists of:
• ABS Cornering
• Ducati Traction Control (DTC) • Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) • Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) 2.0
• Engine Brake Control (EBC)
The operating parameters of each control are associated by default with the four Riding Modes (Race, Sport, Road, Wet). Riders are given the possibility of customizing their riding styles and restoring the default parameters set by Ducati.
The Panigale V2 S also sports the Ducati Power Launch and Ducati Pit Limiter (DPL), that can be bought as separate accessories through the Electronic Pack on the Panigale V2.
ABS Cornering
The ABS system of the Panigale V2 includes the “cornering” function that extends the ABS intervention even when the bike is leaning and derives from the intervention logics and control types of the Panigale V4. The ABS Cornering can be set on three levels to fully accommodate the needs of all riders, both for track and road riding, even in the most critical low-grip situations.
While level 3 is suitable for the road or for low-grip conditions, ensuring safe and stable braking in all conditions and always keeping rear wheel lift under control during sharper decelerations, levels 2 and 1, prioritising braking power, are more oriented towards sporty riding on high-grip surfaces and on the track.
Level 2 is recommended for use on the track by amateur riders; the system manages both the front and rear braking systems, keeping the cornering function active in the absence of lift-up control, allowing for sportier braking. Selecting level 2, you can take advantage of the “slide by brake” function, which allows you to slide when entering a curve for spectacular and even more effective sporty riding in complete safety.
Level 1, which can be selected even if it is not associated by default with any of the Riding Modes, is recommended for expert riders for track use, and guarantees a racing intervention of the ABS system that acts on the front wheel only. Both the “cornering” function and the intervention on rear wheel lift are disabled to generate maximum performance.
Ducati Traction Control (DTC)
The Ducati Traction Control strategy used on the new Panigale V2 derives from the Ducati Desmosedici GP18 and is already used on the Panigale V4 R and V4 R SBK. In addition to interfacing with the 6-axis inertial platform and adapting intervention and slippage to the lean angle of the bike, the software significantly improves power management when exiting corners thanks to the new “predictive” control strategy. By acting not only on the instantaneous value of rear spin, but also on its variation, it intercepts grip losses more quickly and reduces slippage peaks, thus ensuring faster and more regular intervention. All this translates into greater vehicle stability when exiting corners, even in non-optimal grip conditions, greater acceleration and improved performance both on the single lap and on long runs.
In addition to managing ignition advance and injection, DTC also intervenes on the throttle body valves when rapid control intervention is not required, allowing optimal combustion parameters to be maintained and achieving smoother engine response and intervention. The control can be set to eight different levels (six designed for dry conditions and two for wet conditions), allowing riders to adapt the control strategy to their riding style, context and grip conditions.
Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC)
The Panigale V2 is equipped with the latest version of Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC). This system uses information from the IMU 6D to control wheelies and allow maximum acceleration performance to be achieved easily and safely. DWC EVO detects the presence and extent of wheelies more accurately and intervenes to control them with a greater level of precision, thus responding even more closely to the rider’s requests.
Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) 2.0
The new Panigale V2 uses the second-generation DQS introduced on the new Panigale V4. Compared to a traditional quickshifter, the gear lever is no longer equipped with a Hall-effect microswitch, because the shift strategy is based solely on the gear sensor positioned on the gear drum. The benefit for the rider is a more direct shift feel, with a shorter, repeatable and less “rubbery” travel that is particularly appreciated when riding on the track.
Engine Brake Control (EBC)
EBC (Engine Brake Control) was developed to help riders optimize the stability of the bike in extreme corner entry conditions, balancing the forces to which the rear tyre is subjected under conditions of intensive engine braking. The Panigale V2’s EBC, optimised based on the lean angle, monitors the position of the throttle valves, the selected gear and the deceleration of the new V2’s crankshaft during more aggressive braking, and precisely adjusts the throttle opening to balance the torque forces applied to the tyre.
Riding Modes
The Riding Modes allow you to choose between four different pre-set riding styles, to make the Panigale V2’s behaviour perfectly adaptable to the rider, the type of track and the environmental conditions. Each Riding Mode is associated with a different control parameter setting; selecting the different Riding Modes therefore allows you to instantly vary the character of the engine and the intervention of the electronic controls.
Race Riding Mode
The Race RM is dedicated to track riding, with high-grip asphalt. By selecting Race, the rider can count on 120 hp, with direct Ride by Wire response to the opening of the throttle. The Race mode provides a default low-intrusion electronics setting, without however decreasing the level of safety, with ABS at level
2 without lift-up control and the activation of the “slide by brake” function, the controlled slide during braking that allows the bike to be safely sideways when entering a curve.
Sport Riding Mode
By selecting the Sport Riding Mode, the rider can count on 120 hp of power delivery with a sporty Ride by Wire response when opening the throttle. The electronic controls are set to perfectly support the rider when riding on dry roads. Rear wheel lift control during braking is engaged and the ABS Cornering function is set to offer maximum performance when cornering.
Road Riding Mode
The Road Riding Mode is recommended for use on low-grip surfaces. The RM provides the rider with 120 hp of power delivery with a progressive Ride by Wire response, as with the Sport RM, when opening the throttle. The default level of electronic controls is set to offer maximum safety by ensuring the best grip and stability.
Wet Riding Mode
The Wet Riding Mode is dedicated to slippery surfaces, for example in the rain. With the Low Power Mode, associated by default, the Ride-by-wire response is particularly softened, and there is an even more consistent intervention of the DTC, DWC, ABS and EBC engine brake systems. The maximum power is limited to 95 hp/70 kW.
Obviously, the rider can customize the Riding Mode parameters and subsequently restore the default parameters set by Ducati, just as it is possible to enable ABS level 1 (recommended for more expert riders on the track) which intervenes only on the front wheel, without activating the cornering function and lift- up control, to offer maximum braking performance.
PERSBERICHT STREETFIGHTER V2
With the arrival of the new Ducati Panigale V2, it was unthinkable not to create a new Streetfighter. Since the first V4, Ducati has applied the “Fight Formula” to every new Panigale, creating exciting naked bikes on the road and high-performance ones on the circuit. In the case of the new Streetfighter V2, the formula is very simple: 890 cc engine, Panigale V2 chassis, 175 kg in weight, wide and high handlebars, and no fairing to act as a filter between the rider and the elements.
The new V2 is the lightest Streetfighter ever created by Ducati (-18 kg compared to the previous model) thanks to a chassis based on a monocoque frame and the new 90° V2 engine, modern and efficient. A bike that is therefore nimble and at the same time stable and rigorous at high speeds, as fast as the previous one on the kerbs of a track and even more enjoyable and fun on the road and in everyday use.
More intuitive to ride, lively and enjoyable thanks to the lightness and torque of the V2, capable of giving the rider a great feeling from the first contact, the new Streetfighter is as faithful as ever to the “spirito molesto” – troublemaker spirit – of the original.
The design of the new V2 retrieves the typical stylistic features of the Streetfighter family, eliminating the fairing and thus highlighting the mechanical base of the supersport bike from which it derives. The masses are thus concentrated on the front, transmitting an image of attitude and dynamism and highlighting the compact size of the new V2 engine. The “look” of the front, sharp and menacing, traced by the Full-LED headlights and the DRL, makes up an immediately recognizable profile.
As on the Panigale V2, the rear is completely faired, creating a monolithic effect between the seat and the tail that recalls that of the Desmosedici MotoGP. The full-LED rear light is divided into two parts, and the exhaust ends with silencers positioned under the seat. Both hark back to a Ducati tradition that has its roots in the first Superbikes, and underline the sporty soul of the bike.
The design of the new six-spoke light alloy wheels with a “Y” profile, arranged into three groups, represents a modern reinterpretation of the iconic look of the three Marchesini spokes. The black of the wheels highlights the full Ducati Red livery.
New V2 engine
The Streetfighter V2 mounts the new 90° V2 engine with variable timing for the intake valves, Euro5+ homologated, 890 cc and 120 hp. And those who want to use the Streetfighter V2 on the track can mount the racing exhaust, which increases the maximum power to 126 hp, with a weight reduction of 4.5 kg.
All this makes the Streetfighter V2 enjoyable and fun when it comes to sportbike riding. The new Streetfighter V2 S weighs just 175 kg, a fact that combined with the power of 120 hp determines a power/weight ratio of 0.68 hp/kg. All the details on the new engine are available in the press kit.
True Ducati chassis
The Streetfighter V2 frame is a lightweight and efficient monocoque, which uses the engine as a stressed element. The double-sided swingarm is inspired in design by the Hollow Symmetrical Swingarm of the Panigale V4 and offers the same benefits in terms of stability when coming out of corners and feeling when riding on the track, where it allows the rider to make the most of modern slick tyres.
The suspension is fully adjustable, to allow the rider to customize the set-up of the new naked Ducati. The Streetfighter V2 features a Marzocchi fork, Kayaba rear shock absorber and Sachs steering damper, while the Streetfighter V2 S offers its rider a more premium package, consisting of an Öhlins fork and rear shock absorber, in addition to the lithium-ion battery that reduces its weight.
The new cast wheels mount Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres in sizes 120/70 and 190/55, which combine handling and footprint, enhancing the sporty qualities of the Streetfighter V2. The Brembo front braking system consists of two 320 mm discs and M50 monobloc calipers, which offers power for track use and modulability for road use.
Supersport bike electronics
The Streetfighter V2 is equipped with a six-axis IMU inertial platform, thus supporting a complete and effective electronics package, to offer safety for road use and performance on the circuit. The electronic equipment includes sporting ABS Cornering with slide-by-brake functionality, Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Wheelie Control, Engine Brake Control and the new Ducati Quick Shift 2.0, the same system used on the Panigale V4, standard on both versions.
The Streetfighter V2 rider can instantly change its behaviour by choosing between 4 Riding Modes (Race, Sport, Road, Wet) that offer pre-configured and user-modifiable intervention levels for all controls and engine response. In this way, with a simple press of a button it is possible to adapt the Panigale V2 to the rider’s preferences and to the various riding situations.
The Streetfighter V2 dashboard is a new 5” TFT with an Infomode-based user interface conceptually derived from that of the new Panigale V4. The three views – Road, Road Pro and Track – are designed to allow the rider to concentrate on riding, highlighting the most relevant information for each context with a rational and complete display.
The rider interface has been streamlined, integrating the information as much as possible in order to reduce its density and therefore improve readability. The rev counter, for example, also acts as a gear shift indicator, lighting up green in the ideal regime for shifting up, and red when over-revving.
Accessories
The new Streetfighter V2 has several accessories to increase its performance on the track or make it more versatile for road use. With the aforementioned racing exhaust, reserved for use on the circuit, you can increase the maximum power to 126 hp and reduce the weight of the bike by 4.5 kg. And the Lap Timer Pro self-timing system, using the Track Infomode, displays lap times, split times and improvements in the rider’s performance in real time.
Those who wish to enjoy the Streetfighter V2 to the fullest on the road can mount Cruise control, Turn-by- turn navigator and a USB power socket to power the smartphone or the TPMS tyre pressure sensor.

The new Streetfighter V2, like the Panigale V2 from which it derives, marks a new era for Ducati and its medium-displacement naked bike. It is a completely new bike, which retains only the name of the previous one to underline its aggressive spirit, its road destination and the 90° V-twin engine. The new Streetfighter V2 – the lightest ever produced by Ducati – is a lightweight and modern sports bike that, thanks to specific technical solutions, is also suitable for everyday use, so as not to place limits on those who want to enjoy it while riding on mountain passes and on the track, as well as in everyday riding.
To do this, the new Streetfighter V2 is born on a completely new technical base, designed around the new 890 cc 90° V2 engine. A bike designed to provide maximum pleasure in sportbike riding, focusing on lightness, easy handling, a powerful and usable engine, sporty ergonomics but suitable for road riding and high comfort even in casual use. All this while confirming the values of style, sportiness and high-level technical equipment.
Design
The Streetfighter V2 maintains the philosophy of the Streetfighter design: a Panigale stripped of its fairings, with masses concentrated on the front that convey a sporty image, almost athletic. The front is clean and essential, with the design dominated by the Full-LED headlight and the DRL, which makes up a profile immediately recognizable as the typically menacing Streetfighter look.
The mechanical base, shared with the Panigale V2, defines a more horizontal dynamic and is less loaded on the front end, highlighting the compact size of the new V2 that the Streetfighter leaves very clearly, creating an aggressive and at the same time elegant bike like all Ducatis.
The rear, completely faired in continuity with the front like on the Panigale V2, creates a monolithic effect between the seat and the tail. The full-LED rear light is divided into two parts according to Ducati tradition and creates the unmistakable double red arch optical signature. Front and rear direction indicators are LED.
The exhaust, which ends with silencers positioned under the seat and harks back to the Panigale’s racing tradition, recalls Superbike competitions and the 1299 Final Edition and underlines the bike’s sporty soul.
The design of the new six-spoke light alloy wheels with a “Y” profile, arranged into three groups, represents a modern reinterpretation of the iconic look of the three Marchesini spokes. The black of the wheels underlines the full Ducati Red livery.
Ergonomics
The ergonomic triangle and the contact surfaces with the rider have been designed to combine support, comfort and versatility to make the new Streetfighter V2 enjoyable in casual riding, effective and rewarding on mountain passes and between the kerbs, while always maintaining a reduced physical effort.
The rider can control the new Streetfighter V2 through a variable-section aluminium handlebar mounted on the steering head via risers. The adjustable brake and clutch levers operate radial pumps with separate fluid tanks. For road use, you can rely on a 33° steering angle.
The footpegs, with forged attachments and aluminium heel guards, have a shape designed to improve grip. The passenger footpegs are mounted on the rear subframe and can be easily removed to transform the Streetfighter V2 into a single-seater.
The rider seat at 838 mm from the ground allows you to easily put your feet down, the height of the handlebars is designed to define a position that offers the right control both in sportbike riding and in urban environments, and the position of the footpegs allows you to push with your body weight without tiring your knees. The passenger seat is well spaced from the footpegs and is adequately padded.
The fuel tank has an ergonomic shape equal to that of the Panigale V2, to support the rider in braking and when “hanging off” in the middle of the curve. The surfaces in contact with the rider, completely free of metal parts, facilitate the anchoring of the knees in such a way as to unload the arms when braking, and reduce the physical effort required in maintaining an out-of-the-saddle position when cornering.
Engine
The new Streetfighter V2 is powered by the new 90° V2 with 890 cc of displacement, the lightest twin- cylinder (54.5 kg) ever produced by Ducati. Equipped with the IVT variable valve timing system on the hollow-stem intake valves, the new V2 represents a new chapter in the history of Ducati twin-cylinder engines, becoming the benchmark not only for lightness, but also for compactness, fuel consumption and low emissions (Euro5+ homologation) to which are added a wide range of use and a fully usable maximum power level.
The new engine delivers a maximum power of 120 hp at 10,750 rpm, with an extension that sees the limiter intervene at 11,500 rpm.
For the new Streetfighter V2, homologated Termignoni silencers are also available, always with titanium sleeves and carbon end caps, which combine a sporty design with a weight reduction of 0.5 kg.
The six-speed transmission is equipped with the second-generation Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) 2.0, which debuted on the new Panigale V4 and which offers a more direct gear shift feel, with a shorter, repeatable and less “rubbery” travel that is particularly appreciated when riding on the track. The clutch is an oil bath slipper clutch with progressive hydraulic control and low load on the lever. The final drive ratio (15/42) has been developed to ensure the best engine responsiveness when reopening the throttle on open roads and engine extension when used on the track.
Chassis
The chassis of the new Streetfighter V2 confirms the use of the monocoque structure in the dual function of frame and airbox, which uses the V2 engine as a structural element. A compact and rational solution that allows the new Streetfighter V2 in the “S” version to reach a weight with all liquids but without fuel, of 175 kg, or 18 kg less than the previous model.
The 1,493 mm wheelbase and steering geometry with 24.1° rake and 103 mm trail make the Streetfighter V2 easy to handle, light and quick to lean, while maintaining stability when cornering and at speed, thanks
also to the swingarm that is 30 mm longer than the Panigale V2 from which it derives and the Sachs steering damper fitted as standard.
Monocoque Frame
The monocoque structure is cast in aluminium, weighs 4 kg and uses the new V2 engine, to which it is fixed directly to the vertical cylinder head, as a structural element. In addition to fulfilling the classic function of a frame, the monocoque also acts as an air-box (it houses the air filter, throttle bodies and fuel circuit complete with injectors) using the bottom of the 15-litre steel tank as a closing cover.
The rear subframe, also cast in aluminium, is fixed to the monocoque at the top and directly to the engine at the bottom.
Suspension
The new twin-cylinder Ducati Streetfighter is available in two versions, which differ in the suspension equipment, V2 and V2 S.
The Streetfighter V2 is equipped with a fully adjustable Marzocchi fork, with 43 mm stanchion tubes and forged feet. At the rear, the Kayaba shock absorber is also fully adjustable. The Streetfighter V2 S is equipped with Öhlins suspension, fully adjustable, with NIX30 fork with 43 mm diameter stanchions and TiN treatment on the latter to improve smoothness. Both versions feature a Sachs steering damper, to improve precision and stability when riding at high speed.
On both versions, the shock absorber has a separate reservoir and is mounted laterally on a progressive link fixed directly to the new double-sided swingarm, offering easy access to the spring preload adjustments.
The new double-sided swingarm, fixed directly to the engine, is made of low pressure casting aluminium alloy which allows for a reduction in the average thickness of the structure. The external design recalls that of the Ducati Hollow Symmetrical Swingarm of the new Panigale V4, guaranteeing the same benefits in riding in terms of mechanical grip, stability when exiting corners, precision in closing the line at the centre of the curve and maintaining the trajectory while riding.
The chassis equipment can be completed by mounting an adjustable Öhlins steering damper, available as an accessory, to replace the steering damper fitted as standard.
Wheels and tyres
Both versions of the new Streetfighter V2 are equipped with 3.50 x 17” light alloy wheels at the front and 5.50 X 17” at the rear, 1 kg lighter than the previous ones, which mount Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres in the sizes 120/70 and 190/55.
Brakes
The new Streetfighter V2 is equipped with a Brembo system that ensures high braking efficiency accompanied by precision and sensitivity at the brake lever, with excellent linearity between applied force and braking response.
The front calipers are M50 monobloc with four 30 mm pistons, featuring a compact design that allows for a weight saving of 140 grams per caliper compared to the previous M4.32. The monobloc construction
offers rigidity and resistance to deformation in the most extreme braking, which in turn translates into improved precision and sensitivity at the brake lever. The front system is controlled by a Brembo PR16/21 radial pump, which combines a high level of feeling with braking power that is a benchmark for the segment.
The double front disc is 320 mm, while the rear disc is 245 mm.
Electronics
The new Streetfighter V2 is equipped with a latest-generation electronics package, with controls and functions derived from those of the Panigale V4. The functions are managed via a 5” TFT 16:9 dashboard and a “petal” joystick on completely new controls.
To emphasize the cleanliness and elegance of the new dashboard, the physical warning lights have been removed from the external mask and moved inside the display with the sole exception of the red LED over-revving indicator. The rev counter and the engaged gear indicator flash with a pulsating effect and turn green to indicate the moment of gear change, and red to signal the intervention of the limiter. During the running-in phase, the rev counter turns orange when the recommended number of revs is exceeded.
The screen features three display modes (Info Modes) called Road, Road Pro and Track (all with automatic switching between night or day backlighting) which differ in the type of information shown and the relative graphic presentation. Using the “joystick” on the handlebars, it is possible to switch directly between one Info Mode and another while riding.
The Road display is designed to provide essential information when riding on the road. The rev counter bar, circular in shape, occupies the entire right part of the display, with the gear engaged in the centre. On the left side are the speed indication and the selected Riding Mode. The on-board computer data are in the four corners of the display: fuel level, time, coolant temperature and air temperature.
The Road Pro variant increases the density of the information displayed, moving the rev counter to the centre to leave space on the left for the percentage levels of power and torque delivered. The parameters of the selected Riding Mode are visible on the right.
The Track Info Mode features a straight rev counter bar, positioned along the entire length of the upper part of the display. The gear indicator increases in size compared to the Road view, while the speed indicator decreases. On the left side is the information of the Lap Timer Pro, if installed (GPS signal, lap time, split time, lap number and current session, signal of improvement of split time and lap time in absolute terms or with reference to the session, as on the Panigale V4). On the right side, the display shows the Riding Mode parameters, allowing you to vary the level of intervention of each individual control while riding, and showing the activation of each in real time.
The dashboard also allows for Bluetooth pairing with a smartphone and a communication system on the helmet to play music, answer calls and listen to the instructions of the Turn-by-turn navigator accessory, if installed.
Latest-generation electronic controls
The new Streetfighter V2 is equipped with modern and sophisticated electronics, based on the use of the 6-axis inertial platform, capable of instantly detecting the roll, yaw and pitch angles of the bike.
The Streetfighter V2 electronics package consists of: • ABS Cornering
• Ducati Traction Control (DTC)
• Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC)
• Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) 2.0 • Engine Brake Control (EBC)
The operating parameters of each control are associated by default with the four Riding Modes (Race, Sport, Road, Wet). Riders are given the possibility of customizing their riding styles and restoring the default parameters set by Ducati.
ABS Cornering
The ABS system of the Streetfighter V2 includes the “cornering” function that extends the ABS intervention even when the bike is leaning and derives from the intervention logics and control types of the Panigale V4. The ABS Cornering can be set to three levels to fully accommodate the needs of all riders, both on the track and on the road, even in the most critical low-grip situations.
While level 3 is suitable for the road or for low-grip conditions, ensuring safe and stable braking in all conditions and always keeping rear wheel lift under control during sharper decelerations, levels 2 and 1, prioritising braking power, are more oriented towards sportbike riding on high-grip surfaces and on the track.
Level 2 is recommended for use on the track by amateur riders; the system manages both the front and rear braking systems and keeps the cornering function active in the absence of lift-up control, allowing for sportier braking. By selecting level 2, you can take advantage of the “slide by brake” function which allows you to slide when entering a curve for spectacular and even more effective sportbike riding in complete safety.
Level 1, which can be selected even if it is not associated by default with any of the Riding Modes, is recommended for expert track riders, and guarantees a racing intervention of the ABS system that acts on the front wheel only. Both the “cornering” function and the intervention on rear wheel lift are disabled to generate maximum performance.
Ducati Traction Control (DTC)
The Ducati Traction Control strategy used on the new Streetfighter V2 derives from the Ducati Desmosedici GP18 and is already used on the Panigale V4 R and V4 R SBK. In addition to interfacing with the 6-axis inertial platform and adapting the intervention and slippage to the lean angle of the bike, the software significantly improves power management when exiting corners thanks to the new “predictive” control strategy. By acting not only on the instantaneous value of rear spin, but also on its variation, it intercepts grip losses more quickly and reduces slippage peaks, thus ensuring faster and more regular intervention. All this translates into greater vehicle stability when exiting corners, even in non-optimal grip conditions, greater acceleration and improved performance both on a single lap and on long runs.
In addition to managing ignition advance and injection, DTC also intervenes on the throttle body valves when rapid control intervention is not required, allowing optimal combustion parameters to be maintained and achieving smoother engine response and intervention. The control can be set to eight different levels (six designed for riding in dry conditions and two in wet conditions), allowing riders to adapt the control strategy to their riding style, context and grip conditions.
Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC)
The Streetfighter V2 is equipped with the latest version of Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC). This system uses information from the IMU 6D to control wheelies and allow maximum acceleration performance to be achieved easily and safely. The DWC EVO detects the presence and extent of wheelies more accurately and intervenes to control them with a greater level of precision, thus responding even more punctually to the rider’s requests.
Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) 2.0
The new Streetfighter V2 uses the second-generation DQS introduced on the new Panigale V4. Compared to a traditional quickshifter, the gear lever is no longer equipped with a Hall-effect microswitch, because the shift strategy is based solely on the gear sensor positioned on the gear drum. The benefit for the rider is a more direct shift feeling, with a reduced, repeatable and less “rubbery” travel that is particularly appreciated when riding on the track.
Engine Brake Control (EBC)
EBC (Engine Brake Control) has been developed to help riders optimise the stability of the bike in extreme corner entry conditions by balancing the forces to which the rear tyre is subjected under heavy engine braking. The Streetfighter V2’s EBC, optimised based on the lean angle, monitors the position of the throttle valves, the selected gear and the deceleration of the new V2’s crankshaft during more aggressive braking, and precisely adjusts the throttle opening to balance the torque forces applied to the tyre.
Riding Modes
The Riding Modes allow you to choose between four different pre-set riding styles, to offer a Streetfighter V2 behaviour that is perfectly adaptable to the rider, the type of track and the environmental conditions. Each Riding Mode is associated with a different control parameter setting; selecting the different Riding Modes therefore gives you the possibility of instantly varying the character of the engine and the intervention of the electronic controls.
Race Riding Mode
The Race RM is dedicated to track riding, with high-grip asphalt. By selecting Race, the rider can count on 120 hp, with a direct Ride by Wire response to throttle opening. The Race mode provides a default low- intrusive electronics setting, without however decreasing the level of safety, with ABS at level 2 without lift-up control and the activation of the “slide by brake” function, the controlled slide during braking that allows the bike to be safely sideways when entering a curve.
Sport Riding Mode
By selecting the Sport RM, the rider can count on 120 hp of power delivery with a sporty Ride by Wire response to throttle opening. The electronic controls are set in such a way as to perfectly support the rider when riding on dry roads. Rear wheel lift control during braking is engaged and the ABS Cornering function is set to offer maximum performance when cornering.
Road Riding Mode
The Road RM is recommended for use on low-grip surfaces. The RM provides the rider with 120 hp of power delivery with a progressive Ride-by-wire response, as with the Sport RM, when opening the throttle. The default level of the electronic controls is set to offer maximum safety by ensuring the best grip and stability.
Wet Riding Mode
The Wet RM is dedicated to slippery surfaces, for example in the rain. With the Low Power Mode, associated by default, the Ride-by-wire response is particularly softened, and there is an even more
consistent intervention of the DTC, DWC, ABS and EBC engine brake systems. The maximum power is limited to 95 hp/70 kW.
Obviously, the rider can customize the Riding Mode parameters and subsequently restore the default parameters set by Ducati, just as it is possible to enable level 1 of the ABS (recommended for more expert riders on the track) which intervenes only on the front wheel, without activating the cornering function and lift-up control, to offer maximum braking performance.
